What did Walmart on Airline Drive do to their store?

BOSSIER CITY, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Walmart on Airline Drive in Bossier City underwent a two-month-long remodel.

They celebrated the re-grand opening by holding a party outside of the store and giving donations to some local nonprofits.

Why was this re-grand opening so unique? They commissioned a local artist to paint a mural as you enter depicting Bossier City.  Local artist and resident, Haley Kirton was chosen to design the mural and paint it.

“All of the elements are black bayou, pelican, state bird, alligator, boardwalk,  things like that, and I really wanted to do something colorful because I don’t feel like you see Louisiana that’s like really colorful, so yea that’s what I was going for,” said Haley.

Walmart liked her work so much she has now been commissioned to create a mural for a Lake Charles and New Orleans Walmart.
