Summary
- Delta Air Lines has increased daily flights between Cincinnati and Paris in response to demand for the Summer Olympics.
- The Boeing 767-400ER will be the main aircraft, with some A330-300 frequencies this month and in October.
- The daily flights will last through August, before decreasing in September.
Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines recently expanded its operation between Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG). Beginning this week, the airline will fly the route daily, in response to increased demand for the Summer Olympics.
The added flights will be a seasonal revision to its schedule, lasting through August. The carrier will use its Boeing 767-400ER to operate the route throughout the Summer, but the Airbus A330-300 has been scheduled on a few frequencies this month.
“Based on demand”
According to the Cincinnati Business Courier, Delta previously flew between CVG and CDG three times weekly. Paris has been a key nonstop flight at CVG for years, as it allows business and leisure travelers to reach Europe without going through a busy hub in the US.

A Delta spokesperson confirmed the frequency increase to the Cincinnati Business Courier, and spoke about how it will influence connectivity.
“We continuously monitor and adjust our global network based on demand to build a schedule that our customers tell us they most want to fly. We’re excited to be increasing our summer 2024 frequency for flights between CVG and Paris to daily…to help connect more of our customers with the world.”
From 36 to 60
Delta has only 36 flights scheduled between CVG-CDG this month, according to aviation data and analysis firm Cirium. 18 were operated by the A330-300, while the 767-400ER took over the remaining half. The number of total flights on the route doubles to 60 in June, with the A330-300 removed from the schedule. The 767-400ER will be the exclusive aircraft on the route through September, but daily flights will last through August.

The widebody aircraft accommodates a total of 238 passengers across a three-class configuration. Delta One comprises 34 lie-flat seats, while the carrier’s version of premium economy – Delta Premium Select – has 20 recliner seats. The main cabin consists of the remaining 184 standard economy seats. 28 of those seats are designated as Delta Comfort+, which offer increased legroom and are available for an upcharge from the regular main cabin seats.

In June alone, Delta will offer more than 14,200 seats between CVG and CDG. With one extra day in July, nearly 14,800 seats are scheduled. August will have the same number of frequencies and capacity, before Delta reduces the service from daily to only 35 total flights in September. In October, the A330 will make a return to the route, but this time, it will be the slightly smaller -200 variant. Joining the 767-400ER, Delta is planning for 28 flights throughout the month.
Filling up seats
It is worth noting that airline schedules are subject to change based on market conditions, meaning Delta could decide to continue with daily flights if the demand remains after the Olympics. According to the Cincinnati Business Courier, the airline’s flights were about 79% full last year, but during the peak summer travel season, demand skyrocketed, resulting in flights being around 87% full.
