Ezy Airlines of Thailand has taken delivery of its first aircraft ahead of its planned start of revenue operations in the third quarter of this year. The start-up, controlled by M-Landarch Company Limited, had its soft launch on May 24, 2024, in Hua Hin.
Ezy has acquired a Cessna (single turboprop) Grand Caravan 208B EX, which entered the Thai register as HS-EZY (msn 208B5793). The aircraft can accommodate 14 people, including the pilot and co-pilot. While it has received an air operating licence (AOL), Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) records show that as of May 7, 2024, M-Landarch Company Limited’s AOC was still pending.
Speaking at the soft launch, General Supakorn Sanguanchartsornkrain, chief advisor to Ezy Airlines, said the start-up’s strategy was to be a short-haul airline connecting cities and towns in Thailand’s south within a 60-minute flying time of each other. Using Hat Yai as its base, the initial three routes will be to Yala Betong, Nakhon Si Thammarat, and Surat Thani.
“Ezy Airlines sees an opportunity to address the travel needs of locals, tourists, and business people who wish to reduce inter-provincial travel time to no more than 60 minutes,” he said. “This new blue ocean opportunity will create value for the company, business people, and local residents, leading to new business opportunities.”
