With more than 100 aircraft at its disposal, Vietjet will need every one of them to meet soaring summer domestic and international demand. Today the ultra-low-cost carrier announced it was adding 1.4 million seats as it increases summer domestic routes by 35% and night flights by 46%, as well as launching international routes to Australia and Taiwan.
For the upcoming summer peak season, Vietjet is providing an additional 1.4 million domestic seats to a range of destinations across Vietnam, equating to a 35% increase in capacity to an already busy domestic and international flying schedule. Without listing all the routes where capacity is being added, the airline said it would be on existing routes to and from the nation’s main aviation hubs, such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, and Nha Trang and on some new routes between provincial Vietnamese cities.

Vietjet has also increased the number of night flights by 46% or an extra 3,100 services from hubs such as Da Nang, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to other provinces like Hai Phong, Vinh and Thanh Hoa. Vietjet and Thai Vietjet have a combined all-Airbus fleet of 103 aircraft, 18 operated by the Thai Airline and 85 by Vietjet. The Vietjet fleet includes 17 A320-200s, 36 A321-200s, 25 A321neos and seven widebody A330-300s. Lacking the A321neos and A330s, Thai Vietjet operates 12 A320-200s and six A321-200s.
