The Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority, JCAA, says an investigation has been launched into an incident that saw a plane make an emergency landing at Sangster International Airport in St. James on Sunday.
The United States-bound Spirit Airlines flight had departed the airport on Sunday afternoon only to return moments later after an issue was detected shortly after takeoff.
Speaking with Nationwide News, Acting Director General for the JCAA, Nicole Morgan, says initial reports revealed that a door indication fault was the cause of the emergency landing.
Mrs. Morgan says, following the landing, a different aircraft was used to take the passengers to their destination.
She adds that Spirit Airlines has also launched an investigation into the incident.nt.
