1. And so it begins. No jury in American history has faced such a task — deciding whether a former president and presumptive major party nominee will be convicted of a crime. That is what lies ahead for the 7 men and 5 women in the Donald Trump hush money trial as closing arguments have concluded.
Seven men and five women jurors will retire for deliberations on Trump’s six-week hush money trial after Judge Juan Merchan instructs them on the law and their duties.
2. I know I’m in the minority, but maybe more people will start paying attention to the safety instructions before the plane takes off after everyone is talking about the Spirit Airlines flight from Jamaica to Florida that had passengers put on their life vests and prepare for an emergency landing. The vests weren’t needed as the plane was able to land safely, but it did cause a lot of panic.
3. T-Mobile ain’t playin’ when it comes to them wanting to be the top dog in the cellular and wireless industry. T-Mobile announced yesterday it will acquire most of US Cellular’s wireless operations, including around 4.5 million customers and 620 stores, in a $4.4B deal.
4. Ohio real-estate investor Larry Connor says: “I want to show people worldwide that while the ocean is extremely powerful, it can be wonderful and enjoyable and really kind of life-changing if you go about it the right way.” He plans to spend a lot of money and risk his life in a 2-person submersible and head to the wreck of the Titanic. A venture that just a few months ago caused the death of a crew of 5. I think I’d rather stay up here and just watch the movie.
5. And when you think Mexican Cartel you think of things like El Chapo, drugs and guns – all that is changing as cartels have cornered the tortilla market. It appears that the cartels have been able to “gain more political clout by extorting money from a variety of locally owned businesses.” This includes about 15% of Mexico’s tortillerias, resulting in a price increase of 61% for tortillas. This equates to around 20K tortilla shops, and has other businesses fearing violence and retribution. So, if they ever remake “Breaking Bad”, instead of an RV in the middle of the desert churning out ‘biker crank’ – Walter and Jesse will be in a food truck
and THAT’S TRENDING.
