Summary
- The largest Gulfstream jet, the G800, can carry up to 19 passengers and has a range of 8,000 NM. It is neck to neck with the G700
- The smaller G650ER, G600 and G500 can accommodate 13 passengers, with varying ranges.
- The midsize G400 can carry up to 12 passengers with a range of 4,200 miles.
Gulfstream Aerospace is a North American private jet manufacturer based in Savannah, Georgia. It is most famous for its G-500, G-650ER, and G-700 products, but it offers a broader range of jets to potential customers worldwide. Today, we will look at the largest Gulfstream jets available to order off the final assembly line.
For the article’s intent, we have decided to define the largeness of the jet based on the number of passengers it can carry, which is considered the industry norm. Another way to see this would be wingspan or cabin length and width.

The Mazeratti of jets
The G800 can carry up to 19 passengers, allowing ten guests to sleep comfortably in the cabin with four living spaces. If a customer decides to configure the jet with only three of them, this number will increase to 15.
The G800 is a modified version of the G650ER, which we will discuss later in the article. It maintains the original interior dimensions of the G650ER: 53.6 feet in length, 6.25 feet in height, 8.2 feet in width, and a cabin volume of 2,138. Similarly, its predecessor will have the same 16 sizable oval cabin windows. The cabin altitude will be 2,916 feet when flying at 41,000 feet.
Where everything changes, beginning with the engines. The G800 has two Pearl 700 engines, each rated at 18,250 pounds of thrust, matching the powerplants on its G700 sibling. Compared with the Rolls BR725 engines of the G650, the Pearl 700s are 18 % more fuel-efficient, as announced by Gulfstream.

And, of course, range. This jet has an autonomy of 8,000 NM, being able to fly from London to Perth, Australia, in just one tank. Adding a tech stop in Dubai brings New Zealand into the reach of aircraft, meaning business people can link Auckland and New Zealand faster than ever before.

Qatar Executive’s latest flagship This is the direct sistership of the G800; it is slightly smaller, able to accommodate 13 people, and sleeps eight, depending on the configuration chosen by the customer. Qatar Executive is the launch customer and has maintained a confident relationship with the American manufacturer since it delivered its first G650 aircraft in 2015.

Qatar Executive Welcomes Its First 2 Gulfstream G700 To Doha
The airline is the first to fly the G700 outside of the USA.
Simple Flying attended the G700 launch event in Doha a few weeks ago. The two G700s registered A7-CHA and -CHB joined Qatar Executive’s fleet of 15 Gulfstream G650s. Shortly, two more G700s are nearing completion and are expected to arrive in the Qatari capital in the next few weeks. The flights will open to the public in June, with some prospects already showing interest in the new jets.

Long-range, large cabin
The G650ER is a G650 with additional flying capabilities. It is the ultra-long-haul jet of the previous generation of Gulftreams, those manufactured in the late 2010s, as the aircraft remains remarkably modern. As mentioned earlier, it has two Rolls-Royce BR725s and a range of 7,500NM, making it capable of flying up to 14 hours, opening up routes like Paris to Singapore, Hong Kong to Los Angeles, and New York to Dubai, all the while carrying some 13 passengers, putting it on the lower end of the large jet segment of the industry.
The G600 is very similar to the G650 but has a smaller range. It can also carry 13 passengers, and much like the G650(ER), it can accommodate up to 5 people to sleep comfortably. This is why we are mentioning it but not going into any deeper details. It also has a different engine with two PW815GA.

Supermidsize The G500 is more of a super-mid-size jet, even though it can also carry up to 13 passengers and sleep 5/6 comfortably because of its range. This jet has an autonomy of 5,600NM, meaning it can fly for 8 to 11 hours. It will reach cities like Seattle in North America, Dubai in the GCC, and Beijing in China from London. From New York, it can fly to São Paulo, Los Angeles, and London, and from Dubai, it can reach Johannesburg and Tokyo.
The jet is powered by two Rolls-Royce BR-700-C4-11s, considered reasonably fuel-efficient for their class.

Midsize jet
The G400 is considered a midsize jet. It can carry up to 12 passengers, of whom five can sleep. It is less of a long-haul plane, with its range being “only” 4,200 miles—but this represents 6–8 hours of flight connecting city pairs like London to Dubai and New York or Dubai to Tokyo. It will suit most business people’s needs, especially with a tech stop on the East Coast or the Middle East.
It is powered by two P&WC PW812GA.
Please note that although there are other Gulfstreams available, both are fresh and pre-owned, we decided to focus on some flagships. Please let us know if you would like other jets to make a list; we’d love to see what you have chosen and why.
