Rebuilding aviation happens one route at a time, be it a nonstop flight from New York to Auckland or a short hop from Singapore to Thailand; they all add up and join the dots of networks grounded for months. Showing the value of just one route, Jetstar Asia added more than 60,000 seats annually to the pool last week when it launched services from Singapore to the resort area of Krabi in Southern Thailand.

Jetstar Asia (3K) has a fleet of ten Airbus A320-200s, and the one that operated the Krabi launch on Friday generally flies to nearby Asian destinations. In the last week, it has been on routes from Singapore Changi to Bali Denpasar (DPS), Manila Ninoy Aquino International (MNL), Kuala Lumpur International (KUL), Haikou Meilan International (HAK), and Phnom Penh International (PNH), among others, and it returned to Krabi on Saturday.

This is the first of three new routes Jetstar Asia is launching in June. CEO John Simeone said that Thailand is an incredibly popular market, so it is great to add beautiful Krabi to the network alongside Bangkok and Phuket, adding:

“Our fantastic low fares make it easier than ever for travelers to take that dream holiday or a quick weekend away and enjoy all Krabi has to offer. And with a choice of morning or evening services, it’s not just Singaporeans who are excited about this new Jetstar route as those traveling from Australia can enjoy seamless connectivity through Singapore on our Jetstar Airways (JQ) services from Melbourne and Perth.”

Split services help connectivity

The new service will operate six times weekly with split times. Flight 3K571 will depart Singapore Changi on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at 20:10, with the return 3K572 departing Krabi at 21:40 and arriving in Singapore at 00:30 the following day. On Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, flight 3K573 departs SIN at 07:20 and arrives in Krabi at 08:10, with flight 3K574 departing KBV at 08:50 and landing in Singapore at 11:40.

The split schedule means three weekly services leave Singapore in the morning, giving travelers a whole day to enjoy Krabi. For passengers traveling from Australia or Europe, three convenient evening flights weekly provide excellent connectivity for those wanting to visit Krabi via Singapore.
