With both airlines anticipating strong demand from fans and spectators, they are looking to provide ample connectivity options in the coming weeks. Constanza Pizarro, Corporate Communications Manager of Latam Airlines Group, commented,

“In less than a month, athletes and attendees from different countries of the continent will travel to compete and enjoy this great sporting event, so good air connectivity is essential for the success of this tournament. For this reason, this announcement is perfectly complemented by the Joint Venture between LATAM and Delta because it will demonstrate that together it is possible to contribute to greater and better connectivity between South and North America.”

The LATAM Group has also revealed plans for special promotions at some of the tournament’s destinations. It will also offer ticket raffles to some of its most loyal customers, giving them a chance to attend the event.

Delta-LATAM partnership

Delta and LATAM launched their joint venture in 2022. Their partnership was approved in September of that year by the United States Department of Transportation, and they were given six months to implement it. However, the two airlines didn’t waste any time and launched it in November itself.

  • New York JFK-Rio de Janeiro (Delta)
  • Atlanta-Cartagena (Delta)
  • Lima-Atlanta #2 (LATAM’s first route to Delta’s ATL hub)
  • Santiago-Orlando (LATAM, seasonal)

The partnership has opened several new options for passengers of both airlines. Delta passengers now have easier access to cities like Cusco, Peru, and Montevideo, Uruguay, via LATAM’s hubs. LATAM travelers can also conveniently fly access to over 200 US cities through Delta’s hubs. The partnership also lets passengers earn and redeem miles across both airlines, further enhancing the value of the joint venture.
