ILOILO City – A technical malfunction in the baggage conveyor system at the Manila Terminal of Cebu Pacific caused significant disruptions for flights to Iloilo since June 12, leaving many passengers without their luggage upon arrival.
The malfunction resulted to a large number of baggage items not being properly loaded onto the aircraft bound for Iloilo.
The ground staff were unable to rectify the issue in time, leading to a substantial number of baggage items being left behind.
Passengers arriving in Iloilo faced considerable inconvenience and delays as they were left without their luggage. The incident overwhelmed Cebu Pacific staff at both the Manila and Iloilo terminals, who had to manage the backlog of misplaced baggage.
The airline faced additional costs associated with the transportation and handling of the delayed items.
Upon discovering the issue, the ground staff at Manila Terminal promptly alerted the relevant authorities and initiated a manual process to handle the affected baggage. Passengers were informed about the situation and given instructions on how to claim their baggage upon its arrival in Iloilo.
