Summary
- Emirates’ first Airbus A350 will enter revenue service in September.
- The airline will have four passenger aircraft types and variants when the A350 is operational.
- Across Emirates’ entire passenger network, only Mumbai will see all four of its passenger aircraft through December.
It won’t be long until Emirates receives its first Airbus A350-900, which is still expected to enter service on September 15. When the initial aircraft is operational, Emirates’ passenger fleet will comprise the A350-900, A380, 777-200LR, and 777-300ER. While not the subject of this article, it also has the 777-200F and a VIP-configured A319.
The route with four passenger aircraft
Emirates plans to serve 138 destinations globally between September and December when the A350 will be operational. That finding is based on examining its complete network using what the carrier has submitted to Cirium.

Analyzing all the planned equipment for each of the 138 destinations indicates that only Mumbai will see the A350-900, A380, 777-200ER, and 777-300ER.
Emirates: Dubai-Mumbai
Dubai-Mumbai has four daily flights by Emirates, making it the carrier’s third most-served route after London Heathrow and Bangkok. Mumbai will see all four types and variants for the first time on October 27, when the A350-900 will first appear on that route. On October 27, northern airlines, including Emirates, will switch to winter schedules.
That’s the plan as of June 20, but things may change at the best of times, let alone when it concerns introducing a new type.
