Military members can access an airport lounge for free
Select airport lounges provide free access for on-duty military personnel and their immediate family traveling with them on the same day.
Active duty members of the military can access some airport lounges for free. Some airlines even extend this offer to military personnel with a valid ID as well as their family members. As long as military personnel have a boarding pass for same-day travel on a flight operated by United Airlines (or United Express-operated flight), they (alongside their family) get access to a lounge.

Some other airlines/organizations that allow access to lounges for free include:
- American Airlines: AA provides US military personnel and their immediate family access to the Admirals Club. They should be traveling on a flight operated by AA on the day they wish to get access to the lounge, though.
- USO (United Service Organizations): Airport lounges operated by this non-profit organization are free for military personnel in the U.S.
An annual fee waiver is also available for active duty members of the military on the following cards:
- Amex Platinum card
- Chase Sapphire Reserve
