(WBAP/KLIF) – DFW AIRPORT – Flight attendants for the Fort Worth based airline have been fighting for better wages and say that they haven’t had a raise in five years. Last week, union leaders authorized to strike after not reaching a deal through mediation. However, in order for them to walk off the job, the federal mediation board, would have to determine that both parties are at an impasse. If the board believes that’s the case, the union would be released from negotiations, which would trigger a 30 day cooling off period, before a strike could take place. Officials with American Airlines believe that they are close to an agreement and stated that they are looking forward to scheduling more meetings with the union.
