It plans two routes, becoming the third airline on them in a few short years.
Summary
- easyJet is to fly to the City of Derry from Edinburgh and Liverpool.
- In the past few years, both routes have been served by Ryanair and Loganair.
- The City of Derry becomes the carrier’s 22nd UK airport.
easyJet will fly to the City of Derry for the first time in November. It will become the low-cost carrier’s 22nd UK destination and the third in Northern Ireland. No other airline will serve the trio. It will have two routes to Derry without Public Service Obligation (PSO) funding. Will it do better on the routes than those carriers before it? Time will tell.

The details of the two routes are as follows. The shortest airport pair is Edinburgh-Derry at just 140 nautical miles (260 km). Examining the airline’s entire network shows that it will be its joint seventh-shortest route, tied with London Gatwick-Jersey.

Both routes will operate on the same day. A slight delay or early arrival on Mondays might mean two easyJet aircraft are simultaneously on the ground. Edinburgh flights are scheduled to arrive at 09:50 and leave at 10:20, while Liverpool services will arrive at 10:40 and depart at 11:10.

easyJet’s 22nd UK airport
The LCC’s UK airport portfolio is detailed below. Some readers might not like the Isle of Man or Jersey being included, but they are for convenience. Birmingham recently opened as a base, while London Southend will reopen as a base in 2025.
