Breeze Airways is one of the United States’ newest carriers. It began operations in May 2021 when it flew its inaugural flight from Tampa International Airport to Charleston International Airport. Breeze Airways is a low-cost airline funded by David Neelemen (who also founded WestJet, JetBlue, Morris Air, and Azul Linhas Aereas). According to Neelemen, everything is up for grabs when it comes to Breeze Airways’ expansion. These are the five shortest Breeze Airways routes as of July 2024, according to data from Cirium, an aviation analytics company.

The fifth shortest route offered by Breeze Airways is from Norfolk International Airport in Virginia to Westchester County Airport in New York (which is on the state line with Connecticut). Westchester County Airport (also called the White Plains Airport) serves the Huston Valley and the New York metropolitan area (it is around 33 miles north of Midtown Manhattan) and is considered a satellite or reliever airport for the NYC area.

This route is served by an Embraer 190 with a fight time of one hour and 15 minutes. Westchester connects to NYC by Bee-Line bus route 12, which runs between the airport and the TransCenter in downtown White Plains. From White Plains, passengers can take the MTA Metro-North Railroad south to the Grand Central Terminal in New York City and as far north as Wassaic Station in Dutchess County.

Long Island MacArthur (formerly called Islip Airport) is located in Suffolk County in the Town of Islip. It is a smaller alternative airport for the major NYC airports of JFK and La Guardia (both located in Queens).
