Summary
- The Boeing 737 MAX has 2,900 daily departures (each way) in July.
- Denver is the leading airport and one of nine in North America in the top 10.
- The sole exception is Dubai, with flydubai having 94% of MAX flights.
Whether you like the Boeing 737 MAX or not, there is no denying the type’s scale of activity. Only the MAX 8 and MAX 9 variants are used (the MAX 7 and MAX 10 are still to come). Based on examining every service using Cirium data, they have an average of about 2,900 daily departures in July (double for both ways). Southwest Airlines, Ryanair, United Airlines, Gol, and Aeromexico have the most flights.
The MAX’s top 10 airports: July
Analyzing the type’s entire network indicates that 880+ airports in 170+ countries will have at least one flight in July. With about four in ten services, the US is heavily dominant, precisely as expected. Then there’s India, Canada, Spain, and Brazil. The top five nations account for 57 of every 100 MAX flights.

Despite Ryanair and Gol being among the most significant MAX users, none of the airports they serve made the top 10. Instead, all but one are within North America. The sole exception is Dubai, thanks to flydubai, Emirates’ ever-closer narrowbody-operating partner. A fifth of Dubai’s July flights are on the type, which is helped by its lack of another base. According to ch-aviation, flydubai has 59 MAX aircraft: 56 -8s and three -9s.
The table combines both variants of the type. If the MAX 8 were singled out, Dubai would rank first, while Seattle would top the table for the MAX 9.

Until now, the airport pair didn’t have non-stop flights.
A look at Dubai
Other than flydubai, Oman Air, SpiceJet, Air India Express, and Belavia all have MAX services to Dubai in July. As the table shows, nearly all of Dubai’s departures by the type – a staggering 94% – are by flydubai.
Its 59 aircraft will be flown to 106 destinations in 52 countries, sometimes once. The MAX will visit 46 destinations at least daily, of which Tel Aviv, Riyadh, Doha, Kuwait, and Bahrain are the most served.
When all MAX operators are included, Muscat ranks first from Dubai. This is because of two things: Oman Air and that Muscat is flydubai’s seventh most-served airport.

Dubai-Penang is the longest non-stop airport pair at 2,845 nautical miles (5,270 km). It began in February 2024 and is tagged with Langkawi, routing Dubai-Penang-Langkawi-Penang-Dubai. The four weekly flights leave the UAE at 04:15 and return at 01:30+1, particularly timed to connect to/from Europe, including with Emirates.
