Air France’s Flying Blue

After status matching with Flying Blue, you can enjoy the benefits for 12 months thereafter.

Flying Blue is Air France’s loyalty program, which was introduced in 2005. It also offers the chance to earn points on trains. Flying Blue now has 20 million members worldwide. One of the many rewards of this loyalty program is the possibility of a status match at JetBlue Mosaic. Air France already offered status matches across Europe and Canada but extended the status match for eligible customers in the US and Mexico.

To complete the status matching, JetBlue Mosaic members can log onto the online portal of the Flying Blue program, which offers a status match. After that, you need to:

‘Pay the applicable fee, $99 for Silver, $299 for Gold, and upon arrival, be upgraded immediately. Customers who are not existing Flying Blue members can join the program on Flying Blue’s site and then return to complete the application.’

Some of the perks of the JetBlue Mosaic status match with Flying Blue include:

  • Accelerated earning rates
  • Priority check-in and boarding
  • Access to SkyTeam lounges for Gold members

2

Alaska Airlines MVP

Status match is on offer on Alaska, but points/miles need to be earned only by flying.

Alaska Airlines’ loyalty program can be categorized into MVP, MVP Gold, MVP Gold 75K, and MVP Gold 100K. While the Gold Status can have great benefits like extending the gold status to your partner, these won’t be available if you are looking for a JetBlue Mosaic status match. This is because Mosaic status can only be matched with Alaska Airlines MVP. MVP corresponds to 5000 base miles on Alaska Airlines. On the other hand, you need 50 Tiles to achieve Mosaic 1.

You can earn a Tile on JetBlue if you spend:

  • $100 on JetBlue or American Airlines flights, vacation packages, or ancillary bookings.
  • $1,000 on any JetBlue credit card

For a status match, Alaska states its terms and conditions:

“The status match offer is a one-time only offer; a member may only receive one status match for the lifetime of their account. Offer subject to change without notice. A status match is only offered to members who have achieved elite status through actual flight miles or segments in another program. Status granted based on credit card activity, transferred points, or any other promotional offer is not eligible for a status match. “

AAdvantage Status on American Airlines

JetBlue and American Airlines formed the Northwest alliance, which allows for status reciprocity for Mosaic and AAdvantage members.

American Airlines and JetBlue have forged a partnership through the Northeast Alliance whereby:

“ AAdvantage® status members and TrueBlue Mosaic members will have access to complimentary Main Cabin Extra or Even More® Space seats when checking in for a flight on American Airlines or JetBlue.”

When the alliance that allowed AA and JetBlue to match status was formed, Alison Taylor, American’s Chief Customer Officer commented:

“American and JetBlue are committed to delivering a seamless travel experience to customers through our Northeast Alliance. Part of that dedication includes making travel even more enjoyable for our loyal members, who inspired this opportunity. We look forward to their feedback about this chance to elevate their travel across American and JetBlue.”

When flying with American Airlines, Mosaic members get perks such as:

  • Priority security, boarding, and baggage handling
  • Priority check-in with AAdvantage Gold members or/and business class
  • Complimentary same-day flight changes
  • Two free checked bags with a weight limit of 50 pounds each

In addition to the perks above, AAdvantage elite members flying on JetBlue get access to Admirals Clubs for Admirals Club members when flying JetBlue on the same day.

The verification takes up to 12 days, after which you’ll get a confirmation whether your status has been matched.
