ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Ravn Alaska, a small airline that connects many communities statewide, said it will no longer accept miles accumulated by travelers with Alaska Airlines.

In a post on its website, the airline said that policy took effect Monday, the first day of July.

Alaska residents who fly with Alaska Airlines and hold the airline credit card have historically been able to rack up miles — either via flights or by purchasing them directly — in exchange for discount fares in the future.

That service was merged with Ravn Alaska in 2022, giving frequent flyers the ability to earn miles with Ravn flights, which include service to locales such as Kenai, St. Mary’s, Unlalakleet, Aniak, and Cold Bay.

Ravn said in the same message that passengers who book directly on its website can earn FlyCoin, which is a credit earned per mile flown with the airline.
