Late Saturday, a tragic incident occurred at Miami International Airport when a woman was stabbed inside Terminal J’s international arrivals hall.
According to ABC, the attack took place at approximately 11:30 pm, and the victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
As a result of the incident, the airport’s service was disrupted, leading to passengers being rerouted to other checkpoints or terminals. This disruption lasted for about two hours, causing significant traffic and logistical challenges.
A witness spoke to another local news station.
According to a witness who spoke to CBS News Miami, numerous flights were in the process of arriving at the time of the incident. Some individuals within the vicinity were seen rushing to assist the woman, while others fled the scene upon learning of the situation.
“We heard the escalation of a fight.”
“And somebody said ‘run!’ So, you literally had a line of 100 to 200 people easily because we had just come off the plane.”
Following the incident, Miami-Dade Police Detective Angel Rodriguez told the local news outlet that the airport temporarily suspended services in the affected area and evacuated Terminals J and H. However, the airport has since returned to normal operations.
He reportedly said
“There were people that were conducting business in the airport while this happened”
“And so, it’s expected that it can create some sort of chaos.”
The local police department has apprehended the alleged perpetrator.

More recently, on February 24, 2024, a complaint filed by United States Attorneys reported that an Alaska Airlines airplane on Flight 604 had a peaceful journey on January 24 from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) to Las Vegas’ Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) at 06:10. During the flight, a passenger named Julio Alvarez Lopez, traveling on a Mexican passport and allegedly seeking asylum, displayed signs of anxiety such as fidgeting, removing and putting on gloves, and frequently accessing his backpack. Julio avoided making eye contact with his seatmate.
