Is InterCaribbean the worst airline serving the territory?

TRELLIS BAY, Beef Island, VI- Reports are that customers continue to be dissatisfied with the services of InterCaribbean Airways.

For days, many passengers have been speaking to our News Centre about delayed flights, poor customer service, no provision of hotels when flights are cancelled, no meals and sometimes hostile agents.

For the last four days, for example, many of the airlines scheduled flights in and out of the territory have been cancelled, delayed for 7 hours and passengers simply told “we are waiting on the plane to come from Antigua” or Puerto Rico, “we are waiting on a part”, or “the weather is bad”.

Who to report to?

It is unclear whether passengers should report their grievances to the Ministry of Financial Services, Labour and Trade, which is responsible for consumer affairs, or whether it is a matter for the BVI Airports Authority or even the Department of Civil Aviation.

Many dissatisfied and frustrated customers continue to lambast the airline.

Delays & more delays

Today, Sunday, August 4, 2024, for example, there are scores of passengers at Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport awaiting InterCaribbean flights.

A flight scheduled to depart at 8:30 AM is yet to depart and another flight to the Dominican Republic was scheduled to depart at 11:00 AM but is yet to depart.

Customers for a flight destined for San Juan have also been delayed for close to five hours and angry customers have stormed the airline’s counter demanding answers.

However, they have been told the supervisor is not present to answer any questions.

The delays continue unabated and seemingly without any remedy for passengers.

This holiday it may be wise to steer clear of InterCaribbean, if possible.
