Pennsylvania attorney general launches flight complaint form for customers

SCRAMBLING TO DEAL WITH A GLOBAL IT OUTAGE. HERE WE ARE, STUCK IN AN AIRPORT THAT’S SUPER PACKED AND WE DON’T KNOW WHAT’S GOING ON. A BUSY SEASON OF SUMMER TRAVEL BROUGHT TO A STANDSTILL FRIDAY MORNING FOR THE SYSTEM, AND COMPUTERS ARE STRAIGHT DOWN, LIKE THERE’S NO WAY TO GET INTO THE SYSTEM. WHEN WE MET VINNY HELLER AND HIS FRIENDS, THEY HAD ALREADY BEEN STANDING IN LINE AT THE CHECK IN COUNTER FOR OVER TWO HOURS. WE’VE BEEN HERE SINCE LIKE THREE, SO I MEAN, I DON’T KNOW, WE’RE JUST KIND OF WAITING FOR THEM TO TELL US WHAT’S GOING ON. LIKE WHAT WAS GOING ON. A MASSIVE MICROSOFT OUTAGE THAT AT ONE POINT ACTUALLY GROUNDED FLIGHTS ACROSS THE COUNTRY. SOME AIRLINES DEALING WITH PROBLEMS WITH THEIR APPS, THEIR COMPUTERS REALLY EVERYTHING NEEDED TO GET PASSENGERS PROPERLY CHECKED IN SOME IT’S NERVE WRACKING BECAUSE WE DON’T KNOW IF WE’RE GOING TO GET ON OUR FLIGHT. WE’RE GOING TO CHECK BAGS, WE’RE GOING TO SIT ON THE OTHER SIDE FOR QUITE A LONG TIME, AND WE’VE BEEN UP SINCE ABOUT 230 THIS MORNING. ACCORDING TO OFFICIALS WITH PITTSBURGH INTERNATIONAL. THE ISSUE IS NOT IMPACTING THEIR SYSTEMS, BUT RATHER IT SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH EACH SPECIFIC AIRLINE EVENTUALLY, SOME, LIKE DELTA, UNITED AND AMERICAN WERE ABLE TO GET FLIGHTS BACK UP AND RUNNING. BUT THOSE TRAVELING ON ALLEGIANT LIKE OUR FRIEND VINNY, WEREN’T SO LUCKY. OUR FLIGHT WAS SUPPOSED TO TAKE OFF 30 MINUTES AGO. THERE’S OTHER AIRLINES FLYING OUT FLYING IN, AND THEY DECIDED TO CANCEL OUR FLIGHTS AND I THINK THAT IS TOTALLY UNHEARD OF. THE AIRPORT NOW URGING TRAVELERS TO CHECK WITH THEIR AIRLINES DIRECTLY TO SEE IF THEIR FLIGHT IS IMPACTED. AND THIS, OF COURSE, IS A DEVELOPING STORY. WE ARE WORKING TO GET YOU MORE UPDATES JUST AS SOON AS WE HAVE THEM. WE’LL LET YOU KNOW BOTH ON AIR AND ONLINE AT WTAE.COM. REPORT
