This super-midsize private jet will allow Volato to continue growing in size. The introduction of this aircraft into Volato’s fleet also allows the company to begin the world’s first fractional ownership program of the legendary Gulfstream G280. Previously, the company allowed fractional ownership programs of the HondaJet.

This unique fractional ownership program awards owners unlimited flying hours and no blackout days that prevent them from flying. Volato also guarantees a minimum revenue share of 650 hours per year. This is guaranteed for both the HondaJet and the Gulfstream G280.

In a post about the Gulfstream G280, Volato stated,

“We are proud to unveil the arrival of a brand new Gulfstream G280, tail number N280CX, marking the first G280 in the Volato fleet. This remarkable jet is now ready to offer our customers exquisite style, exceptional comfort, and top-tier performance.”

About the Gulfstream G280

The G280 is one of the smallest business jets that Gulfstream produces. However, the aircraft is actually built by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) in Tel Aviv, Israel. The aircraft is assembled in Israel before it is flown to Dallas, Texas, where the aircraft undergoes its interior installation and painting.

In the late 2000s, Gulfstream and IAI worked to develop a follow-on aircraft to the Gulfstream G200, a similarly sized aircraft. The Gulfstream G280 flew for the first time in December 2009, and it was certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Civil Aviation Authority of Israel in September 2012. Deliveries of the aircraft began shortly after, and since then, the companies have delivered over 250 G280s.

The aircraft features a capacity for up to 10 passengers in a stretched fuselage. It is powered by two Honeywell HTF7250G turbofan engines, which provide over 7,500 pounds of thrust each. These engines power the aircraft to 460 knots (528 miles per hour) cruise speed. The aircraft has a long range of 3,600 nautical miles (4,143 miles), which allows the aircraft to fly from London to New York or Singapore to Dubai.
