About to “GoWild!”

American carrier

Frontier Airlines

, well known for its ultra-low fares, has announced a new initiative to stir up demand during the fall and winter seasons. The initiative will definitely pique the interest of fliers across the country.

The carrier is hosting a sweepstake, in which 50 participants will be awarded a six-month, unlimited air travel – “GoWild!” pass, which will allow the pass holders unlimited air travel within Frontier’s domestic and international route network. At the time of writing, the sweepstakes are already open to enter and will end at 23:59 (MDT) on Thursday, August 29th.

Travelers with flexible plans can grab Frontier’s GoWild! Fall and Winter Pass and instantly reach Elite Silver Staus in FRONTIER Miles.

The airline’s vice president of marketing, Tyri Squyres, stated:

“We can’t wait to give 50 lucky winners six full months of unlimited adventures across the United States, Caribbean, and beyond,

Whether its fall leaf-peeping, hitting the slopes or lounging under a pam tree this winter, GoWild! pass holders will find plenty of amazing destinations to choose from”.

There are some rules

While the sweepstakes does not require a purchase and can be entered for free, it is worth noting that the competition is only applicable to residents of the United States of America. Pass holders wishing to travel within the domestic route network must book and confirm their flight at least the day before the intended travel date. Meanwhile, those wishing to travel internationally must have their flight booked and confirmed 10 days prior to the flight’s departure.

Additionally, it is mandatory for all flights to be booked via the airline’s official website and for every flight booked, the pass holder will have to pay $0.01 in airfare and any charges or taxes applicable.

It is worth keeping in mind that the pass allows the passenger just the seat. The ability to check in bags, select seats, and other additional add-ons will still have the standard charge.

The seats available for pass holders to book are capacity-controlled, thus offering limited seats to the pass holders on a first-come, first-serve basis.

^^These are only a few important terms of the sweepstakes.

Reworking the fleet plan

Airlines usually forecast their needs for the future and plan ahead when it comes to aircraft orders and deliveries. Frontier Airlines has 198 of the

Airbus A320neo

family aircraft on order, and they are scheduled to be delivered through 2029.

The carrier decided earlier this month to defer some of these aircraft, which will push the delivery completion from 2029 to 2031. Furthermore, the carrier has also canceled its order for 18

Airbus A321XLR

s and converted 18 of its A320neo aircraft into A321neo. Overall, this would mean that the carrier will see fewer deliveries in the following years.

Frontier Airlines had ordered 18 Airbus A321XLRs in June 2019.

While the A321XLR received its certification from EASA last month, the reason cited by the carrier for canceling its order is that the aircraft did not meet the expectations of the airline in terms of operational performance and range. However, Frontier also states that if this changes in the future, the carrier will reconsider the aircraft and the operations the type would allow.
