Travelers and flights are affected at

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport

(SEA) due to internet and web system outages. The local transportation authorities have urged passengers to check with their respective airlines before heading to the airport. Data from FlightAware identifies that over 69 flights have been delayed, and six have been canceled.

Port of Seattle offline

The Port of Seattle has confirmed that many systems have been offline due to the blackout. On Saturday, systems were reported out at 09:00, and four hours later, they were still struggling to resume functionality. Despite the outage causing chaos for check-in systems, the airport has remained open, and while many flights have been delayed, only a number were canceled.

Many passengers have complained of long lines at check-in, and there have been reports of

British Airways

passengers relying on handwritten boarding passes to board their aircraft. The airport indicated that the system outage could be due to a cyber attack. However, the Port of Seattle has isolated all critical systems and is working around the clock to restore full service for all affected carriers.
