The second aircraft operated by luxury airline Beond has entered service.
This aircraft, an Airbus A321, was delivered to the airline in February 2024, and has since undergone a cabin refit to install Beond signature all-business class interior. The aircraft has also been painted in the carrier’s distinctive dark grey livery punctuated by spherical copper patterns.
The addition of this second aircraft, which is fitted with 68 business class seats, represents a significant capacity increase for the Male, Maldives-based operator, which, up until now, operated a single A319 with capacity for 44 passengers.
The arrival of this additional aircraft will also allow Beond to launch new routes, such as Male (MLE) to Bangkok (BKK). In May 2024, Beond’s founder and CEO, Tero Taskila told AeroTime that the Thai capital would be the carrier’s next destination.
As of September 2024, BeOnd operates flights between Male and Riyadh (RUH), Dubai (DWC), Milan Malpensa (MXP) and Zurich (ZRH), the latter two via Dubai (with Fifth Freedom services also available between Dubai and Zurich). Flights to Munich (MUC), also via Dubai, were discontinued earlier in 2024 but are expected to be reintroduced during the winter 2024/25, which is the peak tourist season in the Maldives.
