London-Stansted Airport (STN) is hoping to lift passengers’ spirits as autumn beds in with news that British Airways and Ryanair are both launching new routes over the coming months.
In total, London-Stansted confirmed there are five new destinations, with Ryanair operating four routes and British Airways operating one.
“As summer draws to an end, many of us may be feeling the blues, but fear not, London Stansted has some exciting news to lift everyone’s spirits with five new routes taking off this autumn,” a spokesperson for London-Stansted Airport said on September 9, 2024.
British Airways, which returned to Stansted earlier this year, commenced flights to Split in Croatia on September 7, 2024, under its regional airline BA CityFlyer.
The new weekly Embraer 190 service will depart from STN every Saturday at 12:55, local time, and arrive just under two and a half hours later, with the return flight scheduled for the same day at 17:05.
From October 2024, Ryanair will fly twice a week to Linz in Austria, a destination that is not currently served by direct flights from the UK.
Ryanair already operates to the Austrian cities of Klagenfurt, Salzburg and Vienna from Stansted but will be adding Linz at a time when passengers are searching for new seasonal getaways.
Also from October 2024, every Wednesday and Sunday the Irish low-cost carrier will begin services to Reggio in Italy.
From November 2024, Dubrovnik in Croatia will be added to Ryanair’s scheduling from Stansted with flights taking off every Wednesday and Sunday.
Finally, from November 2024, Ryanair will fly to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s capital Sarajevo every Monday, Friday and Sunday.
“We are thrilled to announce these new services from London Stansted this winter. We understand the importance of providing our customers with a diverse range of destinations to choose from, and these new flights do just that. Whether you’re looking for a city break, a winter sun getaway, or cultural experience, London Stansted has got you covered,” said Neringa Ohrstrom, Head of Brand and Marketing at London-Stansted Airport.
Flights from London-Stansted currently operate to over 190 destinations across Europe, Middle East and North Africa.
