Anticipating a strong demand from passengers from the Netherlands for travel to sunnier destinations in the winter months, Qatar Airways will soon increase flight frequencies to Amsterdam. The network boost will last for a few months in the winter season until March 2025.

More flights to Amsterdam

Qatar Airways
has announced that it will launch four additional flights to Amsterdam, starting November 12 and ending on March 29, 2025. This will increase the carrier’s operations there from 10 weekly flights to 14.

This has been done in anticipation of strong demand from passengers who wish to head to sunny destinations, particularly in Southeast Asia, such as Bali (Denpasar), Bangkok, and Ho Chi Minh City, among others.

The carrier’s 14 flights from Amsterdam will accommodate 40,000 additional passengers to travel between Amsterdam and Doha and for their onwards journey. Qatar Airways Chief Commercial Officer, Thierry Antinori, commented,

“Qatar Airways is delighted to witness and serve the growing travel demand in the Dutch capital, which is an integral destination in our European network. We look forward to offering our world-class product and seamless service to travellers from Amsterdam seeking to experience the world through Qatar Airways’ extensive network of more than 170 global destinations.”

Network consolidation

Amsterdam is not the only city that will see more flights from Qatar Airways. The airline announced last month that it will increase flight frequencies to several popular destinations, such as London, Miami, Tokyo, and Male in the Maldives in the coming months. This was in response to the strong demand for passengers wanting to travel during the winter holiday season.

London will see an increase from 49 flights to 56 in a week—the most of any Gulf carrier—resulting in an increase of 42,000 seats per week each way.

Recently, Qatar Airways also announced the expansion of its operations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with the resumption of services to Abha starting January 5. Additionally, it will increase its flights to NEOM from two to four weekly flights during the winter season.

Abha is Qatar’s 11th destination in Saudi Arabia. The carrier already operates service to AlUla, Dammam, Jeddah, Medina, NEOM, Qassim, Riyadh, Tabuk, Taif, and Yanbu in a network that includes 140 weekly flights to the country. Through Doha’s Hamad International Airport, Qatar Airways flies to more than 170 global destinations.
