Emirates operates a fleet made up of only two types of widebody aircraft
– Airbus A380s
and Boeing 777s
– although A350s and Boeing 787s are on order. Emirates also operates some of the longest nonstop and one-stop flights in the world (these are mostly to Latin America and Oceania). According to data from Cirium, an aviation analytics company, these are the longest one-stop Emirates
flights scheduled for October 2024.

Singapore’s Changi Airport is noted for being one of the most highly rated airports
in the world and a major hub for the Asia-Pacific region.

The scheduled flight time on the Boeing 777 is 16 hours and 20 minutes, with the scheduled layover being just 1 hour and 35 minutes. The second-longest one-stop flight is from Dubai to the South Island’s largest city of Christchurch after touching down in Sydney (Australia’s largest city). The city of Christchurch and the Christchurch Airport are by far the smallest on this list. While Christchurch Airport is the main airport in the South Island and the second busiest in New Zealand after Auckland, the airport is still small and landing in the massive A380 feels strange as it taxis up to the seemingly-deminutive terminal.

The route’s total distance is 8,719 miles, and operations are daily. A total of 15,004 seats are scheduled for October. Often, only a fraction of the giant aircraft’s 484 seats are filled as it completes the second leg of the journey across the Tasman Sea to Christchurch. Emirates provides the only connection between Christchurch and international destinations beyond the Asia-Pacific region (United’s San Francisco flights count as Asia-Pacific).

Emirates Refurbished Boeing 777s Coming To US: Would You Book Their Premium Economy Cabin?
Emirates will launch flights to the US on its newly refurbished Boeing 777s starting in November. Emirates has enhanced the business-class layout for added comfort and refreshed the economy and first class cabins. One of the big changes is the introduction of the airline’s new premium economy cabin.
Emirates hesitated to add this middle cabin for many years, though many airlines have embraced it. There has been a concern that the premium economy might take bookings away from business class. Still, the reality is that most premium economy tickets are booked by passengers who want something better than economy class without spending too much more.
I’ve often booked premium economy on mid-haul and long-haul flights. My first experience was with Virgin Atlantic in the 1990s, the second airline to introduce the premium economy cabin concept. As a young professional, I couldn’t justify a business-class ticket on my expense report. However, I could get away with something a little better t

Strangely enough, this longest Emirates one-stop flight is only a little longer than Emirates’ longest nonstop flight (Dubai to Auckland at 8,823 miles). It is also considerably shorter than the world’s longest nonstop commercial flight (Singapore Airlines New York City to Singapore at 9,537 miles). The longest-range passenger aircraft can service any route on this list nonstop.
