What is Business Class Americas?

Business Class Americas is avianca’s premium product on select routes across its Americas network. Primarily available on the Airbus A320 since the summer, it is also offered on some Boeing 787 services across the continent. On the A320, premium seats are located in the first three rows of the aircraft, with a blocked middle seat featuring a table instead – perks of Business Class Americas include:

  • Extra legroom and wider seats
  • One personal item + one 10 kg carry-on + two 32 kg checked bags
  • Priority check-in and boarding
  • Gourmet in-flight menu
  • Amenity kits

Catalina Nannig, avianca Vice President of Sales, commented,

“The expansion of Business Class availability across the Americas strengthens the positioning of this experience, which is built on a commitment to delivering high-quality service in every detail, offering exceptional journeys. An example of this is the inclusion of comfort features and a menu, which on most flights departing from Bogotá has been designed by renowned Colombian chef Álvaro Clavijo, recognized as one of the best in the world.”

The airline scrapped its business class product on flights within The Americas back in October 2022, even going so far as to re-fit its A320 fleet as it sought to save money after a rough couple of years during the pandemic. However, it reintroduced the product on a select few 787 routes starting last summer and has now essentially made a full U-turn on its earlier decision.
