United Airlines is strengthening its position as the leading U.S. carrier for ski travel by offering significantly more flights to popular ski destinations than any other airline. In 2024, United will provide nearly three times the average daily flights of its competitors, with nonstop service to 11 major ski markets. This expansion includes new routes, additional flights, and upgraded aircraft to meet the growing demand for ski vacations.

Aircraft Upgrades and Increased Capacity

United is set to introduce larger Embraer E-175 aircraft, operated by SkyWest, on select routes to Aspen, CO, and Bishop/Mammoth, CA. These aircraft will offer more premium seats, enhancing the experience for travelers heading to these popular ski destinations.

Key New and Expanded Services for Winter 2024:

  • Washington/Dulles to Bozeman, MT: United will launch new seasonal weekend service, connecting travelers from the East Coast to one of Montana’s premier ski destinations.
  • Newark/New York to Bozeman, MT: An additional flight will be added on weekends, increasing connectivity between the New York metro area and Montana.
  • Chicago to Gunnison/Crested Butte, CO: New weekend service will operate in February and March, providing access to one of Colorado’s best-kept skiing secrets.
  • Los Angeles to Kalispell, MT: Starting in February, United will introduce new seasonal weekend service, making it easier for travelers to visit the gateway to Glacier National Park and nearby ski resorts.
  • Newark/New York to Jackson Hole, WY: A second daily flight will be available from December to March, offering more options for East Coast travelers heading to this iconic Wyoming destination.
  • Los Angeles to Montrose/Telluride, CO: During the peak holiday season (December through January), United will offer daily service to Montrose, giving skiers and snowboarders direct access to Telluride’s world-renowned slopes.
  • Sun Valley, ID: United will provide twice-daily service from both Los Angeles and San Francisco during the peak holiday season, catering to winter sports enthusiasts heading to this premier Idaho resort.
  • Denver to Bishop/Mammoth, CA: United is extending its seasonal service with twice-weekly flights through the end of April, offering more opportunities for spring skiing in the Eastern Sierra.
