Provider of aerospace engine aftermarket services StandardAero has announced it will provide Icelandic low-cost carrier PLAY Airlines with LEAP-1A Performance Restoration Shop Visit (PRSV) services in support of the airline’s fleet of A320neo family aircraft.
The activity will be carried out at StandardAero’s LEAP MRO facility in San Antonio, Texas.
PLAY Airlines is the latest operator to entrust StandardAero with its CFM LEAP engine support, and will benefit from the OEM-authorised MRO services provided by the company, which last March became the first North American non-airline CFM Branded Service Agreement (CBSA) holder for the LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B.
These services – which include MRO support, workscoping/forecasting, engine testing, programme management, component repair development, lease engine support and module swaps – are offered under StandardAero’s Total Engine Asset Management (TEAM™) services portfolio.
Sindri Rúnar Úlfarsson, manager of engineering -technical operations for PLAY Airlines, said: “Operational performance and commercial flexibility were critical factors in our decision-making process and we look forward to experiencing StandardAero’s customer service first-hand.”
Will Pitcher, senior vice president of sales, marketing and customers of StandardAero’s engine services -airlines and fleets division, said: “StandardAero is truly honoured to have been selected by PLAY Airlines to provide it with LEAP-1A PRSV services.
“We know how important on-time performance is to PLAY Airlines and its passengers. We look forward to providing PLAY Airlines with reliable, high-quality services from our San Antonio-based LEAP facility for many years to come.”
