Music, Miami and Latin America are inextricably linked in most people’s minds, so it should come as no surprise to learn that American Airlines is the official airline sponsor of this year’s Latin GRAMMY Awards, which will be held in Miami this month. To celebrate the event, the airline is launching a sweepstake, giving AAdvantage members the chance to win two tickets and 60,000 AAdvantage Miles.
¡A bailar! American Airlines is in the groove
Last week, American Airlines (American) announced it is the official airline partner of the Latin GRAMMY Awards, which is celebrating its 25th Anniversary this year. To celebrate this momentous milestone, the awards are returning to where the Latin Recording Academy calls home, where the journey commenced, and where its headquarters are located.

The event will take place in Miami on Thursday, November 14, 2024, with the Latin GRAMMYs the preeminent international honor and the only peer-selected award celebrating excellence in Latin music worldwide. American’s Vice President of Miami Hub Operations, Juan Carlos Liscano, said American is excited for the return of the Latin Grammys to Miami, the airline’s leading gateway to Latin America and the Caribbean.
“We look forward to welcoming attendees to Miami International Airport, where American offers up to 400 daily nonstop flights, with 170 flights to more than 70 Latin American and Caribbean destinations, including Mexico, Dominican Republic, Colombia, Argentina and Brazil.”
Watch out for these at the airport
To commemorate this milestone year, American is celebrating Latino culture in Miami, and travelers passing through Miami International Airport (MIA) will see a customer art installation that honors current and past Latin GRAMMY Award nominees, offering them a unique photo opportunity.
To get into the Latin mood, travelers will be entertained by music from the nominees and past winners in front of La Carreta near gate D38 from November 10 to 13 between 4 and 8 p.m. A specialty cocktail, El Viajero, featuring American’s newest lounge partner, Don Francisco Coffee, will be available between November 12 and 17 at the Admirals Club lounges at gates D15 and D30.
