A MAJOR airline has returned to Edinburgh Airport for the first time in four years.
Emirates has resumed a popular direct service from the Scottish capital to one of the world’s most sought after destinations.
The daily route to Dubai will resume as Edinburgh is now part of the VINCI Airports network.
A luxury flight was welcomed on the tarmac with a performance from members of the world-famous Edinburgh Military Tattoo, piping the flight onto stand.
The service will initially be served by a Boeing 777 before the airline introduces its very first A350 to the route.
The aircraft is complete with Emirates’ acclaimed Premium Economy product and its brand new Business Class cabin.
Edinburgh is the airline’s eighth destination in the UK.
The daily service will complement the current A380 daily flight to Glasgow – offering customers 14 weekly flights to/from the country.
The route from Edinburgh was has been suspended since the beginning of the Covid pandemic in 2020.
It has now returned to the capital after four years.

“The return of Emirates has been one we have all been excited about and we are already looking forward to the introduction of the airline’s first A350, which offers passengers the chance to experience Emirates’ acclaimed Premium Economy product and its brand-new Business Class cabin.”
