Condor Airlines has returned to Antigua and Barbuda after a hiatus during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Flight DE2272 touched down at the V C Bird International Airport on November 5 with over 200 passengers.
To mark the airlines’ return, the flight was given a ceremonial water cannon salute, followed by disembarking passengers receiving special welcome from tourism officials waiting at the terminal building.
Antigua and Barbuda Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Transportation and Investment, Charles Fernandez, expressed excitement about the re-start of the service.
“We are thrilled to welcome Condor back for the winter season. The German-speaking market is our second most important European market, and this direct service opens valuable access to Antigua and Barbuda for central European travellers,” he said.
Oliver Feess, Condor’s Senior Manager for Network Planning, commented: “With the resumption of the connection between Frankfurt and Antigua and Barbuda we offer our guests another great option to enjoy their holiday in this beautiful country. We are delighted to continue our strong partnership with Antigua and Barbuda. The new A330-900neo with the new Business Class is the perfect product for this wonderful destination.”
The seasonal service from Frankfurt will run from November 5, 2024, through May 6, 2025.
The weekly flight between Antigua and Frankfurt is a direct service, while the return leg makes a stop in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
