ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – A Delta Air Lines flight that took off from Atlanta on Wednesday was diverted because of “a reported odor in the flight deck,” airline officials said.
Delta flight 850 from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Washington, D.C., was diverted to Raleigh-Durham International Airport out of an abundance of caution over the smell.
Officials said the flight landed safely, and customers are being put on another flight Wednesday night.
“Safety is always our top priority, and we apologize to our customers for the delay in their travels,” Delta officials said in a statement.
Airline officials said the flight is an Airbus A320 aircraft with 150 passengers and six crew members aboard.
There have been no reports of any customer injuries, according to Delta officials.
