Avelo Airlines celebrated their base opening today, Nov. 7, at 7:15 a.m. at Bradley International Airport and has announced the launch of four new domestic routes, with an additional three routes starting next week.
Today’s debut routes are to Charlotte/Concord and Wilmington in North Carolina, according to a release. Tomorrow, Nov. 8, two additional routes will be flown to Daytona Beach and Orlando/Lakeland in Florida.
“Next week, Avelo will add Houston, Texas (HOU) and its first scheduled international flights with service to Cancun, Mexico (CUN) and Montego Bay, Jamaica (MBJ),” according to Avelo.
All flights will run two days a week, according to the Connecticut Airport Authority, with the aforementioned flights to North Carolina running on Thursdays and Sundays.

“After much anticipation, it is wonderful to see the first two scheduled Avelo flights depart from Bradley International Airport,” said Kevin A. Dillon, A.A.E., Executive Director of the CAA. “We are appreciative of Avelo’s service at Bradley International Airport, which has strengthened our domestic and international route network, offering our travelers more options and more convenience.”
Guests for today’s base opening included Avelo’s COO Greg Baden, Executive Director of the Conecticut Airport Authority Kevin A. Dillon, A.A.E., Representatives Tami Zawistowski and Jane Garibay, and Hartford City Council President Shirley Surgeon.
