IndiGo Airlines launched its inaugural Indigo Stretch flight from Delhi to Mumbai on Thursday. The flight covered a short duration of 1 hour and 40 minutes and landed safely at Mumbai Airport at 8:48 AM local time. Pieter Elbers, the CEO of IndiGo, was reportedly onboard this flight along with many aviation enthusiasts. Positioned as a mid-tier offering, IndiGo Stretch bridges the gap between low-cost business class and full-service business class.

Passengers can enjoy benefits like in-flight entertainment (IFE) screens, lounge access, reclining lie-flat seats, and of course, the hot meals. This service is also slated to debut on IndiGo’s upcoming fleet of Airbus A321XLRs which was also introduced on Thursday with Iberia, as well as on their Airbus A350-900s in the near future.

Indigo Stretch: All about comfort

IndiGo Stretch redefines premium air travel with a focus on comfort and convenience. Featuring coupe-style seating in a spacious 2-2 configuration, each seat offers a generous 38-inch pitch and 21.3-inch width, ensuring a relaxed and enjoyable flight experience. The airline has partnered with Oberoi Catering Services to deliver a range of specially curated, healthy meal options for business class passengers. Travelers will enjoy complimentary vegetarian meal boxes along with a variety of beverages, enhancing the overall inflight dining experience.

In addition to its premium seating and hot meals, IndiGo Stretch passengers can take advantage of several complimentary services, such as advance seat selection, priority check-in, and boarding—all without extra fees. The dedicated IndiGo Stretch cabin will feature 12 seats, offering a more comfortable alternative to the standard 6E cabin, which retains its 208 seats. As part of its long-term strategy, IndiGo plans to introduce Airbus A350-900 aircraft by 2027, further elevating comfort on domestic routes. With a network spanning over 400 routes, including 34 international destinations, the airline is set to expand its global presence, with plans to launch seven new international routes in the near future.
