HAGATNA (PACIFIC ISLAND TIMES)—United Airlines will open a new route between Taiwan and Guam on 02 April 2025.
“The new Taipei-Guam route expands an exciting new destination for Guam’s tourism industry and provides more direct connections to Asia for Guam’s residents,” said Sam Shinohara, United’s managing director of airport operations for Asia-Pacific at United.
“We have been working to develop the Taipei-Guam route for some time now as we believe that introducing a new route for Guam will help the island to diversify its visitor base and provide more convenient connections for business and leisure travelers in the region,” he added.
The new twice-weekly nonstop service, scheduled for Wednesdays and Saturdays in both directions, will depart Guam at 7 am and arrive in Taipei at 9:25 am.
The return flight from Taipei to Guam will depart at 11am. and arrive in Guam at 4:50 pm.
United said it will operate the flights with a Boeing 737-800 with 166 seats, 16 of which are in business class.
All new flights are subject to government approval and will become available for sale on United.com and on the United app in due course.
“We are pleased to connect two of the most beautiful destinations in Asia Pacific and offer our customers more travel destinations to explore,” said Kenichi Kiriyama, United’s director of sales for Japan and Micronesia.
“Taipei, the capital of Taiwan, is a cultural and economic centre with a population of about two and a half million people and will also serve as a convenient forwarding city from many destinations in Southeast Asia,” he added.
“As we unite to bring back the Taiwan market, our journey to improve tourism for Guam continues with more dedication than ever,” said Gerald Perez, acting president of the Guam Visitors Bureau.
“Our work is far from over, but if we’ve made this much progress in just a few short months, think what we can accomplish together in the future ahead,” he added….PACNEWS
