After letting a double-digit fourth-quarter lead slip away, the Bossier Bearkats pulled out a 70-68 victory over the Evangel Christian Eagles in the third annual Decari Markray Classic Tuesday night at BPCC.

Senior Kam Davenport hit two free throws in the final seconds of regulation to send the game into overtime tied at 62.

After Evangel hit one of two free throws to tie it at 68 late in overtime, freshman David Thomas was fouled near the sideline. He made both free throws with 6.2 seconds left.

The Eagles didn’t get a shot off. Davenport made a steal at halfcourt and ran out the clock.

Bossier led 33-24 at the half and 50-40 at the end of the third quarter. The Bearkats extended the lead to 53-40 early in the fourth.

But Evangel went on a 10-0 run to get within three. Bossier led 57-52 but the Eagles scored five in a row on a three-point play and a steal and layup to tie it.

It remained tight the rest of regulation.

Five Bearkats scored in double figures — Thomas (15), Lajerrion Benjamin (14), Davenport (13), Tycoreion Williams (13) and Tonio Ambler-Barr (11).

CJ Shiflett led Evangel (1-2 with 26 points.

Bossier (2-1) will be back at BPCC Saturday. The Bearkats play Airline at  7 p.m. the David Bryant Classic.

Elsewhere, Airline defeated Green Oaks 43-39, and Parkway fell to Booker T. Washington 81-79 in the Green Oaks Thanksgiving Classic.

Parkway (2-2) defeated Green Oaks 65-52 Monday. The Panthers host Carroll Tuesday.

Airline (2-2) plays Woodlawn at noon Wednesday.
