The beaches, the nightlife, the all-inclusive resorts. There’s nowhere quite like Cancun in the broader Caribbean, and few destinations in the hemisphere have been as popular in the post-pandemic period.
Now, Southwest Airlines is adding yet another new route to Cancun International Airport, with plans to launch nonstop service between Colorado Springs, Colo. and Cancun.
The new route will begin next summer, with the first flight taking off on June 5, 2025, Caribbean Journal has confirmed.
When will it run? Once weekly on Saturdays, according to Southwest.
More importantly, it’s another sign of the growing importance of the mountain west and west coast for Caribbean travel, as more and more carriers continue to add flights from the region, a trend we have reported on extensively.
So what will the flights cost?
Right now, you can book them for as low as $571 roundtrip, going up to $685 for Southwest’s “business select” fare class.
The flight takes just under four hours.
