“Thanks to the new LOT Polish Airlines route, our passengers can now reach sunny Malta in just three hours and fully experience its charm. With its stunning location, subtropical climate, and rich historical heritage, this southernmost European island is a year-round destination for all. I warmly invite sun-seekers and relax travellers from Poland, as well as residents of Malta, to hop aboard our welcoming flights. This new connection opens up access to LOT Polish Airlines’ vast network, making travel even more convenient” says Michał Fijoł, CEO of LOT Polish Airlines.

The launch of new routes is made possible, in part, by the excellent collaboration between LOT Polish Airlines and local tourism organisations.

“We welcome LOT Polish Airlines’ announcement to launch a route between Malta and Warsaw, calling it a further important step in destination Malta’s quest for diversifying its airline connectivity mix and the markets it connects it to. Besides opening up Malta to niches not currently serviced in the fast-growing Polish market to the island, LOT’s new service will also seamlessly link Malta to the attractive long haul markets, which can benefit from LOT’s extensive international network” said Carlo Micallef, Malta Tourism Authority CEO.

Malta International Airport, that will operate LOT Polish Airlines’ connection, is conveniently located just 5.6 km from Valetta, the country’s capital.

Malta International Airport is pleased to welcome LOT Polish Airlines with the launch of their first direct flights between Malta and Warsaw this coming summer. Poland is one of our top-performing markets, and this new route will further strengthen the growing ties and connectivity between our two countries. With Warsaw serving as an important hub, this route will also provide our passengers with more seamless travel opportunities to destinations beyond Poland. We look forward to collaborating closely with LOT Polish Airlines to ensure the success of this new connection – says Alan Borg, Malta International Airport CEO.

Malta, the largest island in the Maltese Islands archipelago, is the 10th smallest country in the world by area, covering just 316 km². The archipelago also includes the islands of Gozo, Comino, and several smaller islets and rocky outcrops. Malta’s landscape is a captivating mix of natural beauty, with rocky coastlines and the vast blue of the Mediterranean Sea providing a serene backdrop for relaxation, alongside a rich array of architectural monuments and historical treasures. The country offers a unique blend of Italian, British, French, and Arab cultural influences, making it a truly distinctive destination.

From ancient megalithic temples older than the Egyptian pyramids to the chivalric legacy of the Order of Malta and the Baroque splendour of Valletta and Mdina, every corner of Malta tells a fascinating story. Valletta, Malta’s capital, is home to around 320 monuments, making it one of the most densely packed historic areas in the world. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Valletta’s top attractions include the 16th-century St. John’s Co-Cathedral, home to Caravaggio’s masterpieces in its Oratory; the Grand Masters’ Palace and Casa Rocca Piccola; the National Archaeological Museum; and the Upper Barrakka Gardens.

In the Maltese Islands, the sun shines for approximately 300 days a year, with an average annual temperature of 23°C. Nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers can enjoy crystal-clear waters perfect for diving and snorkelling, scenic cliffs, and idyllic beaches such as the Blue Lagoon on the island of Comino.

A trip to Malta offers an unforgettable experience, blending relaxation, culture, and adventure in one beautiful destination. Tickets from Warsaw to Malta are now available on lot.com, at the LOT Contact Centre, at LOT Travel offices, and through agency sales channels.
