REDDING, Calif. – On December 17, the Redding City Council will review a proposed agreement to establish new air service between Redding Regional Airport and Denver International Airport through a partnership with United Airlines.
The city council is expected to consider authorizing the city manager to negotiate the terms and the mayor to sign the agreement, helping to move the project forward swiftly and efficiently, the city said.
The proposed agreement includes a $2 million minimum revenue guarantee to support the new route, with funding provided by a collaborative partnership between local public agencies, businesses and non-profit organizations, the city said.
“This new route is an integral part of the city’s commitment to advancing economic development opportunities,” said Assistant City Manager Steve Bade. “Direct flights to Denver will open up access to additional markets, attract new businesses,= and bolster tourism in our region.”
The city council meeting will take place at the City of Redding Council Chambers, located at 777 Cypress Avenue, on December 17 at 6 p.m.
