A direct flight from Louisville to Nashville is estimated to take less than an hour.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — By this time next year, you could get from the Derby City to Music City in less than an hour.

Southwest Airlines recently announced they will soon be offering direct flights from Louisville, Ky. to Nashville, Tenn.

This new nonstop service from Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF) to Nashville International Airport (BNA) is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2025.

Louisville Airport officials say these new flights will provide travelers with convenient connecting options to 76 cities.

“Southwest’s continued investment in SDF is a positive sign for our travelers and region,” said Dan Mann, executive director of the Louisville Regional Airport Authority. “This quick flight allows for a wide range of connecting opportunities through Southwest’s network of more than 70 cities across the country.”

This new service will offer travelers quicker itineraries and a wider range of options to reach popular destinations, especially coastal cities in the Southeast such as Pensacola, Destin, Panama City, Savannah, Charleston and Myrtle Beach. 

In addition to these routes, the flights will provide more travel choices to dozens of cities across the nation, particularly in the Southeastern U.S.

Nonstop service to Nashville will be offered on a 143-seat Boeing 737 aircraft and will be available daily, except on Saturdays.
