As global air travel surges post-pandemic, the aviation sector, which operates in recurring cycles, is beginning to show the first signs of market pressure. Many airlines are now implementing hiring freezes and taking other precautions, raising questions about the unpredictable future. AirExplore CEO, Martin Stulajter, believes that while the European market may be reaching its peak, there are still plenty of opportunities in emerging markets.

“Demand is a broad, complex term,” Stulajter notes. “In Europe, I’d expect demand to hit its limits within the next one to two years. Emerging markets, on the other hand, still have significant growth potential that could last for many years. What we see today is remarkable — the demand for ACMI services has never been this strong, largely due to OEM supply chain issues. That said, it is likely to stabilize over the next two to three years.”

Successes, setbacks, and lessons from 2024

For AirExplore, 2024 was full of positive changes. From a fleet of 9 to 16 aircraft in less than a year, the company strengthened its position in both the ACMI and cargo markets. This expansion led to a notable increase in operational capacity, carrying 29,521 tons of cargo. Staff numbers also grew, from 359 in 2023 to 415 in 2024.
