Luxembourg-based Luxair has extended an order agreed with Embraer from October 2023 to six E195-E2 aircraft, after exercising options within the contract.
Embraer announced on December 17, 2024, that the Luxembourg flag carrier had signed a firm order with the Brazilian planemaker for a further two E195-E2s.
In October 2023, Luxair ordered four E195-E2s, with two options and three purchase rights for more aircraft, with conversion rights to E190-E2 if required.
Embraer confirmed that the three purchase rights remain in place, along with conversion rights to E190-E2 as required.
“The E195-E2 is a critical investment in Luxair’s future, enabling us to balance growth with our commitment to a greener and quieter future. Starting in 2026, these aircraft will mark the beginning of a new era for Luxair, bringing quieter operations, superior fuel efficiency, and unmatched passenger comfort to our customers,” said Gilles Feith, CEO of Luxair.
Feith added: “With a focus on a remarkably quiet interior cabin and low noise emissions, the E195-E2 aligns perfectly with our vision for a more sustainable, efficient, and customer-focused regional airline.”
Luxair’s first aircraft delivery from its 2023 order is scheduled to arrive in early 2026 while the new order has secured additional delivery slots in 2027.

Luxair’s E195-E2 will be configured in a single class layout with 136 seats in Embraer’s signature two by two seating.
According to ch-aviation, Luxair currently operates three Boeing 737-700s, three 737-800s, two 737 MAX 8s and 10 De Havilland Q-400s.
The airline has awaiting delivery of two 737 MAX 10s (options for two more), four 737 MAX 7s and six 737 MAX 8s.
