Vnukovo International Airport summed up the results of the test operation of a unique digital product for coordinating interaction between airport services and airlines. The WEB Portal project expands the functionality of the AviaBit-Airport information system, which is successfully used in Vnukovo for the organization of uninterrupted work. Thanks to it, airlines have the opportunity to conveniently select slots (time intervals for aircraft maintenance at the airport) and effectively schedule planning.
The new functionality provides airlines with the opportunity to manage slots independently, and the approval procedure takes place automatically. Thus, airlines get a complete picture of the free “windows” in the airport’s operation already at the stage of forming flight plans for the upcoming schedule seasons. The system also automatically reserves the necessary airport resources for a new task — from the required number of check-in counters to the optimal aircraft parking location.
During testing in a real production environment, more than a hundred requests were successfully processed. Moreover, the use of the system is gaining momentum due to the benefits for all parties involved. For airlines, the WEB Portal is a visual representation of the workload of airport services at different times, effective scheduling and aircraft maintenance plan. For the airport, it is the optimization of resources, as well as improving the quality of services provided to airlines and, ultimately, to passengers.
It should be noted that the WEB Portal project has no analogues in the territory of the Russian Federation and in the CIS countries, and in operation such systems are used only at airports in the USA, the EU and the UAE. And now also in Vnukovo International Airport.
