Yakovlev included in Rostec’s United Aircraft Corporation together with Moscow Institute of Electromechanics and Automatics (MIEA) included in Rostec’s Concern Radio-Electronic Technologies has completed the development of an automatic flight control system (AFC) for the advanced domestically-built SJ-100.
AFC provides automatic and director (generation of system commands to be fulfilled by the pilot) flight and engine thrust control. The new solution will be implemented as part of the integrated flight control (IFC) system.
The created algorithms fully meet those used on modern passenger airliners and are designed to fulfill such functions as director takeoff control and fully automatic control at all other flight phases.
The new solution features CAT IIIB autolanding algorithms. It provides automatic alignment and touchdown control as well as aircraft direction maintenance along the runway centerline.
“We have successfully completed the preliminary test of AFC implemented as part of IFC using the ‘Electronic Bird’ integrated test bench with participation of engineers and test pilots. The next phase involves installation of the system on airliners, and development and certification flight testing,” said Kirill Kuznetsov, Chief Designer of SJ-100.
