SOUTH BEND — South Bend International Airport was seeing minimal impact after American Airlines had to briefly ground its flights nationwide on the morning of Christmas Eve.

An unspecified technical issue caused American to ground its flights for about an hour, according to a USA TODAY story. Delays and cancelations were expected to persist across its flights.

In South Bend, though, airport spokeswoman Julie Curtis said this caused only a “minimal” effect on American flights. An arrival late Tuesday morning from Charlotte, N.C., was coming in about an hour and 14 minutes late, according to the airport’s website. Arrivals later in the afternoon from Charlotte and Dallas were still pegged as “on time.”
