Starting December 28, Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) will temporarily suspend flights to seven Russian destinations: Mineralnye Vody, Sochi, Volgograd, Ufa, Samara, Grozny, and Makhachkala.
According to a statement from the airline, the decision is linked to “the preliminary investigation results of the Embraer 190 crash and potential risks to flight safety.”
Despite these suspensions, AZAL will continue operating flights to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Astrakhan, Yekaterinburg, and Novosibirsk.
The airline has emphasized that passenger safety remains its top priority and is closely monitoring developments to determine when flights to the affected cities can resume.
Passengers with bookings to the suspended destinations are advised to contact AZAL for alternative arrangements or refunds.
