Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that the Azerbaijani Airlines plane that crashed in Kazakhstan was attacked from the ground on Russian territory.

Details: The plane that crashed in Aktau was damaged “as a result of the attack from the ground”, Aliyev said.

Emphasising that the plane was not shot down intentionally, Aliyev said that admitting guilt, apologising to Azerbaijan, which is considered a friendly country, and informing the public were all measures and steps that had to be taken [by Russia – ed.].
